All about the Brazilian GP🇧🇷
4.309km / 71 laps / 15 turns / lap record 1:10.540 (Bottas, 2018)
Most known by the name Interlagos - the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace plays host.
Inaugurated in 1940, the first championship race held here was in 1973, and has been held at Interlagos each year since 1990.
5 Brazilian drivers have won the Brazilian GP - Emerson Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna, Felipe Massa, and Carlos Pace.
The Brazilian/São Paulo Grand Prix has held a sprint race each year since they became a recurring event, and has been won by a different driver each time! Valtteri Bottas (2021), George Russell (2022), and Max Verstappen (2023).
The 2019 race saw two F1 drivers claim their first podium finishes! Carlos Sainz claimed P3 and Pierre Gasly P2.

With all the talk of Lando trying to catch Max, many people may not realize that Charles Leclerc is now only 24 points behind Lando in third place in the drivers' championship. Lando is 47 points behind Max.
At the end of every season, you can look back and find many “what ifs.” With Leclerc and Ferrari's season, there have been several instances where, with a bit more luck and better performance, Leclerc could be even closer to catching Max than Lando is.
We have 4 races and 2 sprints, and maybe a few fastest lap points to decide it all!
Did you know that this is only the second time in F1 history to have a season with 6 different race winners? The only other time this happened was in 1981 (which was a 15 race season compared to this years 24)
This season breakdown:
7 wins - Max Verstappen
3 wins - Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris
2 wins - Carlos Sainz, Lewis Hamilton, Oscar Piastri
Verstappen appears to be taking a 5-place grid penalty this weekend for a new ICE unit, this and a little rain could lead to a tense race with lots of points up for grabs. 🤞
Lewis Hamilton will honor Ayrton Senna by driving his 1990 McLaren following the Sprint race and Qualifying on Saturday 🇧🇷

Honda and Apline have been ordered by the FIA to pay a combined $1,000,000 ($600,000 for Honda and $400,000 to Alpine) in fines for their 2023 cost cap breach.
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff said the team will have to be "creative" with their use of car parts as the season comes to an end to avoid breaching the cost cap. Wolff mentioned that due to recent crashes involving George Russell and Kimi Raikkonen in Monza, the team has had to consider how they develop new parts and what they need to simply repair. They will have new floors this weekend, but that might be about it for the remainder of the season.
Christian Horner has said they have done all they can to support struggling Sergio Perez. When asked about 2025 and likelihood of changes being made, Horner had this to say:
"But there comes a point in time that you can only do so much. There comes a point in time that difficult decisions have to be made.”
