News From the Week
It is being reported that Aston Martin has reached an agreement for Adrian Newey to join their team once his leave is complete, and they they will announce this by next weekends Azerbaijan GP.
Rumours have been abundant on what the highly respected and accomplished designer would do following his sudden departure from Red Bull.
Talks of him joining Lewis Hamilton and moving to Ferrari first got us all very excited at the start of the season, but those rumours ran quiet after not too long.
It will be interesting to see what Newey is able to accomplish (if this reporting is true) with the Aston’s and if he can replicate his previous successes. Maybe this is the boost Lance Stroll needs to be a world champion…
Yuki Tsunoda’s race engineer will be leaving his role and had this nice message to share, which Yuki reposted.
Kevin Magnussen will be receiving the first F1 race ban since 2012. His past teammate Romain Grosjean received a ban for causing an accident at the Belgain GP. Here is a video from Youtube showing some of those onboards.
If you receive 12 penalty points within a 12 month span you get a race ban. This system was put into pace in 2014 and KMag is the first driver to receive a suspension since.
KMag received his other penalty points in Saudia Arabia, China, and both sprint and regular race in Miami.
Kevin Magnussen is the first driver to receive a race ban since the penalty point system was introduced ❌
Here's how he accrued the maximum 12 penalty points in a 12-month period

McLaren reported have more upgrades to bring but are hesitant to bring them too fast to avoid any drops in performance like some of their rivals have experienced.
Their last big upgrade packages were in Miami and Zandvoort, and they may continue to work slowly to make sure they have the best understanding of expected performance.
